what day of cheap eats would be complete without a slice?
our fourth stop was joe’s pizza on carmine at the intersection of 6th and bleeker.
every slice from joe’s in heavenly. my favorite part about joe’s is that there isn’t a heating lamp in sight. everything here is fresh out of the oven, baked perfectly, and made with fresh ingredients. it’ll cost you $2.75 for a slice, but after a bite of the first piece you’re guaranteed to want at least one or two more pieces.
the dough is crisp (but not dry), the fresh tomatoes make the sauce light and acidic, and the mozzarella stretches into arches as you pull the slice away from your smiling face.
there isn’t much space for eating, but there is a park across the street when the weather permits and you can always take it on the go if not.
simple and perfect. best slice yet in NYC.
ps peter parker was fired from his delivery job at Joe’s in the spiderman movie
